We use Grammarly for proofreading because we can't save shitty books, but we can save our mediocre blog posts.
It's book club time again!
Our most recent book selection was The Silent Wife.
The Silent Wife was chosen because we were all such huge fans of Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn. "This Summers Gone Girl I gobbled it down in on sitting!" said one reviewer. We were so excited, for the psychological thriller, the story of a marriage gone wrong! Dun Dun Dun!!!
Our verdict, dumb. So dumb. Not silent enough.
Bailey hated it so much that she created a list of all the reasons she hated it. Mahaley just quit and didn't finish it. (Mahaley made the smart decision, Bailey waisted her time.) If you care to read the 100 reasons why Bailey hated it, you can find that on our Goodreads group.
It gets worse. We also found out that someone has decided to make The Silent Wife into a movie. This is usually so exciting. When a book we love is going to be a movie we count down the days to watch it love and let everyone know that the book was so much better. Not sure how this will play out, but we won't be watching it. Sorry Nicole Kidman, maybe we will watch Moulin Rough instead.
Well lucky for us, book club is more than just books, its about the food and the people too! We had some people out of town and some new members joining. The food was particularly delicious this time, so delicious in fact that there were no photos taken before it was gone. Whoops! We did have delicious passion fruit bars, the recipe was posted a few weeks ago here!
Well the choices we had to pick from this time around were all great, but also very different.
We chose from; Orange is the New Black, An Open Heart Practicing Compassion in Everyday Life, and The Bedwetter.
Well it was a tough choice and Bailey fought for OITNB but Mahaley wasn't present to help push the vote along, so their second choice was picked.
The book club as a whole is trying be better people so we opted for An Open Heart. We are hoping to learn about finding more compassion and being better people. We will see how this turns out!
Feel free to read along with us or grab some of the other suggested books, we both picked up Orange is the New Black and plan to read it regardless. We are a bit obsessed, have you noticed yet?
Also, if you are currently writing books, blogs, long emails, whatever it is, be sure to check out Grammarly.
Grammarly is an online proofreader. It will find more mistakes that word processors, make you seem smart but giving you some more intelligent word choices, and it also checks for plagiarism. Pretty handy these days when we are all using text message lingo on daily basis, sometimes it pops in where is shouldn't. There also seem to be about a million people writing about the same things, so a plagiarism check could really come in handy.
