While at the GFAF Expo, we stopped by a booth that had a whole bunch of cookbooks. Seriously, what's better than books - how about books that show you how to make delicious food! They were kind enough to give us one of the cookbooks to try out.
We have made a few things from this book, but decided to make something quick easy and Thanksgiving related to get you ready for the big holiday. Gravy! We picked gravy since when it is Thanksgiving time, gravy goes on everything!
Ingredients:
1/2 onion
1 cup cooked mushroom pieces
1 tbs arrowroot
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 cup water
1 tbs vegetable broth*
Tabasco**
1 tbs white wine
* Recipe called for vegetable broth seasoning, I just used the vegetable broth because I couldn't find any, It worked out just fine.
**I did not use tabasco... too hot!
Instructions:
Saute onion in a small amount of water.
Dissolve broth seasoning and arrowroot into 1 cup of water.
Ass mushrooms in the onions.
Cook gently until thickened
Add remaining ingredients.
Serve on everything!
